Born in 1971 in Lydia Kavala. He is an athlete, a retired football player, captain of the Greek national football team that won the 2004 UEFA European Football Championship and former president of the historic and popular Greek football club, PAOK FC. With 120 caps, Zagorakis was Greece's all-time leader in international games and the team's longest-serving captain. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the EURO 2004 Championship by UEFA. He played in four clubs in the English Premier League, Italian Serie A and the Greek Super league. During his international football club career, Zagorakis won a Football League Cup and a Greek Cup. In 2007, after his long and prestigious career, Zagorakis became President of PAOK FC. Before entering the European Parliament, he was a successful businessman. MEP since 2014.
