Stefania Zambelli was born in 1971 in Salò, an idyllic village on Lake Garda in the Italian Lombardy region. In 2009, she was elected Deputy Mayor of her hometown, Salò, responsible for security and public order, tourism and trade, civil protection and equal opportunities. She was also a member of various boards of directors of municipal and regional agencies. She has worked in the healthcare sector as a healthcare management employee. A Member of the European Parliament since 2019, she has been active on topics related to cancer, health and safety in the workplace, disability and inclusion. In 2021, she was appointed rapporteur for the fourth revision of the Carcinogens and Mutagens Directive. This revision aimed to improve workers' health protection. MEP since 2019.
