Born in 1974, in the town of Malmédy, Belgium. He represents the German-speaking community in Belgium. He graduated in Classical Philology at the University of Liège, in European Studies at the RWTH Aachen, and in Law at the University of Louvain-La-Neuve, between 1996-2002. Mr Arimont has been a Parliamentary Assistant in the European Parliament from 1998-2002. He did internships at law firms in Brussels and Sankt Vith between 2002-2006. He is a lawyer and partner in the law firm ‘Melotte, Veiders & Arimont’. He was a Member of the Provincial Council of Liège between 2006-2009 and Member of the Parliament of the German-speaking community in Belgium between 2009-2014. He is a Member and Vice-Coordinator of the Committee on Regional Development (REGI). He is a Substitute Member of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) and of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE). MEP since 2014.
