BIO

Matteo Gazzini was born in Bolzano on July 9, 1985. Raised Catholic, he later moved to the USA to pursue an aviation career. Matteo became a commercial pilot and flight instructor.

He holds an Associate Degree in Accounting and Business and studied Mathematics and Aerospace Engineering at Syracuse University. However, he did not complete the course, leaving after three years to run in the 2018 elections.

He is a real estate developer and an agricultural entrepreneur with operations in Trentino-Alto Adige and Tuscany.

Matteo entered the political arena in 2018 when he ran for election as a representative for Italians living abroad. He ran specifically in Northern and Central American constituencies. In 2019, he was a candidate in the European elections for the North-Eastern regions of Italy and began serving in the European Parliament in 2022.

During his tenure in the European Parliament, Matteo Gazzini has played an active role in developing the "Cyber Resilience Act" within the ITRE Committee.

Furthermore, he has posed numerous written inquiries to the European Commission, addressing various issues. These include a "Request for an opinion on the potential endorsement of a European strategy on demography," a "Call for clear labelling of insect-based products," "Efforts to combat the illegal prostitution market and the exploitation of women," and "Initiatives for the restoration of traditional varietal crops," among others.

At the close of 2023, Matteo was appointed leader of the Forza Italia Party in Alto Adige, Italy.
