Andrea Laskavá was appointed Director of the EPP Group Presidency in 2017 after having served as advisor in the directorate dealing with the Parliament's constituent bodies and coordination with the political groups. She previously worked as Group advisor for the Committee on Legal Affairs, the Committee on Culture and Education, and the EU-Maghreb Delegation. Before joining the EPP Group in 2006, Andrea started her professional career in Brussels in 2001 in a private law practice focusing on international trade law and EU competition law. In 2003, she joined the Directorate-General for Trade in the European Commission. Andrea graduated from both the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Arts (interpreting and translating - English and German) at the Comenius University of Bratislava, Slovakia. Subsequently, she completed a postgraduate study programme in European law at the Europa-Institut of Saarland University, Germany.
