Mr Włodzimierz Karpiński was born in 1961 in Puławy, Poland. In 1990, he graduated from the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology. In 1993, he also completed Management Studies at the University of Warsaw. This was followed by postgraduate studies in the area of Management of Structural Funds and European Union Law at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in 2004 and an MBA program at the Institute of Economics of the Polish Academy of Sciences completed in 2021. From 2005 until 2019, he was a Member of the Polish Sejm. He served in many public functions. In 2011, he was Secretary of State at the Ministry of Interior and Administration. Between 2011 and 2013, he served as Secretary of State in the Ministry of Administration and Digitisation. In 2013, he was nominated as Minister of Treasury in Poland. He fulfilled this function until 2015. Between 2021 and 2023, he served as Secretary of the City of Warsaw. MEP since 2023.
