Born in 1955 in Jönköping, Lars Adaktusson worked in news journalism for over 35 years. His work took him from the corridors of power in the White House and the Kremlin to the besieged city of Sarajevo. He has interviewed people in overcrowded refugee camps, seen the misery in the Gaza Strip, has faced the terror of suicide bombers in Israel and was personally censored by the dictatorship in Iran. These experiences have seen him exercise several different positions: a political reporter and commentator, a news anchor and TV host and a foreign correspondent in the three major regions of the world; Central Europe, USA and Middle East. His knowledge and contacts from journalism as a whole is an important asset in his work as a Member of the European Parliament. He believes that party politics in general need representatives with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. MEP since 2014.
