Francesc Gambús holds a BA in Political Science and Public Administration. He has been a member of the Unió Democràtica de Catalunya (UDC) Party since 1995, having held several positions of prominence including National Executive Committee Member of the UDC Youth Union, Deputy Spokesman for the Convergència i Unió coalition for the Gracia District of Barcelona (2007-2011), as well as Party Coordinator of the 2010 Catalan elections. He has also served as a parliamentary assistant in the European Parliament (1998-2004), in the Spanish Congress (2005-2007), was Coordinator of the Badalona City Council Department of Trade and Consumer Affairs (July 2007-Jan 2011), Chief of Staff to the Vice-President of the Catalonian Government (Jan-Dec 2011) and Director-General for Foreign Affairs of the Catalonian Government (Dec 2011-April 2014). Gambús is also a member of the UDC National Council, member of the UDC Steering Committee, Vice-President of the UDC European Affairs Committee, Secretary of the UDC International Relations Committee and Director of the Miquel Coll Alentorn Humanistic Studies Institute. MEP since July 2014.
