Manfred Weber on visa waiver for all EU citizens who travel to USA and Canada

The European Commission meets today in order to discuss whether travellers from USA and Canada should apply for a visa before travelling to Europe.

Following this meeting Manfred Weber Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament expressed his fully support the actions of the European Commission in case that Washington and Ottawa ignore Brussels request for a visa waiver to apply for all EU citizens.

"There is only one European position: All citizens of the Union must be treated equally. Americans and Canadians can enter the European Union without a visa and the EU expects equal treatment in return. We Europeans are better off when we stand together," concluded Manfred Weber
