The Belavezha Accords paved the way for the Europe of today
25 years ago, on 8 December 1991, six leaders from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus signed the accords. The Soviet Union was dissolved. The dissolution of the Soviet Union formed the Europe of today - a space of freedom and plurality in a history of culture and national identities shaping a common heritage based on human values.
