Strasbourg plenary debates budget, reforms; acts on immigration and organised crime

The European Parliament session in Strasbourg this week debated the budget showdown with the European Council, with the EPP Group MEPs demanding more flexibility to fight unemployment, as well as stronger structural reforms to create jobs. Parliament also approved a strengthening of Europe's asylum policies and reinforced the Schengen treaty on open internal borders, with legislation authored by EPP Group MEPs.
