Celebrating Europe Day at the EPP Group stand in Brussels

Europe Day

Over 11,000 citizens visited the Brussels premises of the European Parliament on "Europe Day" last Saturday, 4 May. Visitors took the opportunity to stop by the EPP Group stand, where Members, the Secretary-General and volunteers of the EPP Group in the European Parliament answered questions about the Parliament and its largest Group.

The stand offered plenty of fun and educational activities for families in the Kids Zone. Undergraduate and graduate students were invited to learn more about their chance to enter an essay competition and win traineeships. A very popular activity was also the on-site quiz to test EU knowledge and win prizes.

Background:

Europe Day celebrates Europe's achievements and unity, commemorating the signing of the Schuman Declaration on 9 May 1950. Europe Day is also an opportunity for citizens to see the inside of the European Parliament.
