In a breakthrough to a 30-year deadlock, the European Parliament approved a common European patent procedure that will drastically cut costs for innovative firms and boost competitiveness in Europe’s single market. The procedures include a Unified Patent Court (UPC) to speed litigation, written by EPP Group MEP Klaus-Heiner Lehne, and translation rules, written by EPP Group MEP Raffaele Baldassarre
