The Right Side of History

In a joint statement the PN's head of Delegation David Casa and MEP Roberta Metsola stated:

In his speech in Parliament on marriage equality, Leader of the Opposition Simon Busuttil stood up to ensure that on the issue of marriage equality, the Partit Nazzjonalista stood on the right side of history.

As promised during the last general election campaign this historic vote to pass legislation in favour of marriage equality is one that brings equality to all sections of society. Going forward, the Maltese LGBTI community will not only be entitled to equality - they will have a civil and legal right to it.

This belief in favour of full equality is one borne out of a true sense of belief in standing up for what is right, pushing to one side the political and media attention that may often take over the real issue at hand. 

As Malta’s and Partit Nazzjonalista’s representatives in European Parliament, we proudly stand with Simon Busuttil in making this new legislation reality.
