Born on 16 February 1978 in Gävle, Sweden, Tomas Tobé is the Head of the Swedish national delegation. He was elected as a Member of the European Parliament in 2019 and is the Chairman of the Committee on Development and Member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. He is a Substitute Member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. Prior to being elected to the European Parliament, he held various positions in the Swedish Riksdag since his first election in 2006. These include positions as Chairman of the Committee on Justice, Committee on Education and Committee on the Labour Market. He was the Secretary General of the Moderate Party between 2015 and 2017. MEP since 2019.
