Town councillor in Schwalbach for 13 years, six years as Chairman of Federal Young Workers’ Association and member of German national Council of Junge Union. 10 years on federal executive of CDU social affairs committees, area Chairman of Lower Main Christian-Democratic Workers Association (CDA) since 1977. Co-founder of EUCDW. Chairman of the Hesse regional association of the Europa Union. Federal Vice-Chairman of the Europa Union, Germany. Chairman of Tibet Intergroup. MEP since 1994.
