Born in 1972, Ralf Seekatz trained as an industrial clerk between 1993 and 1995. He completed a degree in Administrative Science between 1995 and 1998. In the European Parliament, he is a Member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and a Member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. He is a Substitute Member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. He is also a Member of Rhineland-Palatinate Regional Assembly. Within this role, he acts as a European Affairs Spokesman of the CDU Group. He was also a Member of the Committee on Home Affairs between 2006 and 2019. From 2007 to 2019, he was the Mayor of Westerburg. Since 2009, he has been a Member of the Westerwald District Assembly. He was the Vice-Chair of the CDU Group in the Council of Westerburg Local Authorities Association, from 2004 and 2019, Chair of the CDU Group of the Westerburg Town Council between 2004 and 2007, and Member of the Westerburg Town Council between 1999 and 2007. He became Chair of the Supervisory Board of DRK Rettungsdienst GmbH Westerwald-Neuwied-Rhein-Lahn and Vice-Chair, DRK District Association, Westerwald. He is Vice-Chair of the CDU/CSU Delegation of the EPP Group of the European Parliament. MEP since 2019.
