Completed Medical School Secondary in Šemper pri Gorici and graduated at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Organisational Sciences in Kranj in 1989. She worked in the HR department of Slovenian furniture company Meblo in Nova Gorica before joining Pigal in Nova Gorica as a commercial manager. She was self-employed and active in the retail trade. She worked at the Ministry of Finance from 1997 starting as a senior tax inspector in the Department of Tax Inspections and Investigations in Nova Gorica. In 2012, she became a substitute member of the National Assembly and President of the Committee on Finance and Monetary Policy. In 2013, she returned to the Ministry of Finance in the Department of Tax Inspection in Ljubljana. She was elected member of the City Council of Nova Gorica from 2010-2014. She was President of the Statuary Legal Commission of the City Council and former leader of the SDS political group at the City Council before being elected to the European Parliament. She was President of the municipal committee of SDS in Nova Gorica from 2010-2014 and is currently its Vice-President. MEP since 2014.
