Born in 1956, Šahy, Czechoslovakia. Graduated in Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemical Technology of the University of Pardubice. Member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic 1990-2010. Vice-President of the Hungarian Christian Democratic Movement 1991-1998. Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for Human Rights, Minorities and Regional Development 1998-2002. Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for European Affairs, Human Rights and Minorities 2002-2006. President of the Party of the Hungarian Coalition 2007-2010. Member of the National Presidency of the Party of the Hungarian Community since 2011. Author of several books. MEP since 2014.
