Member of the Portuguese Parliament during the 9th parliamentary term. Secretary of State for Education during the 15th Constitutional Government. Chairman of the National Jurisdiction Council of the CDS-PP. Vice-Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the CDS-PP during the 9th parliamentary term. Member of the Portuguese Parliament during the 10th parliamentary term. Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of CDS-PP. Currently, Member of the Executive Board of CDS-PP. MEP since 2009.
