Born in 1956. Poznań Region. MA, Agriculture Academy in Poznan, Poznan School of Banking. Member of the Polish Sejm (1989, 1991, 1993-1997, 2001-2007). Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for European Affairs (2007-2009). Vice-chairman of the Assembly of Polish Counties (2000 – 2003). Vice-chairman of the Polish Inter-parliamentary Union (1993–1997). Councillor of the Ostrzeszów City Council (1990–1994). MEP since 2009.
