The EPP Group asserts its leadership by championing Ukraine's NATO membership, a crucial step post-war. We continue to call on all NATO members to endorse the Ukrainian Peace Formula and Kyiv Security Compact, prioritizing security. Leaving Ukraine in a security grey zone risks future hostilities; we must act decisively to prevent it. The EPP Group also played a pivotal role in strengthening Europe's defence, advocating for NATO's Eastern flank reinforcement, and defining a clear stance on China. We also urged African, Caribbean, and Pacific countries to oppose Russia's war in Ukraine and pushed for swift ratification of the EU Mercosur Agreement with Latin American partners. The EPP Group emphasized cooperation, competition, and confrontation with China, setting red lines against arming Russia and invading Taiwan. In the European Parliament, we called for increased defence investments, streamlined decision-making, and a robust EU-Africa partnership for job creation and investment opportunities.
