The EPP demands freedom for the people of Venezuela and makes a strong appeal to all EU governments to demand the respect of the presidential election results. The only one that can be invested president today is Edmundo González.

The Venezuela people give in the presidential elections a clear message to replace dictatorship for democracy and they should have the same rights than others to have recognised their democratic rights.

The EPP condemns any kind of coercion against the President elected, Edmundo González, María Corina Machado or any other member of the political opponents to Maduro’s regime.

The EU must provide unambiguous support to democracy in Venezuela.
