"The adoption of my Report by a large majority (548+, 110-) demonstrates our unity in the fight against barbarism in our region and beyond", declared Rachida Dati MEP, following the vote on her Report on the prevention of radicalisation and recruitment of European citizens by terrorist organisations today at the plenary session of the European Parliament.

"The measures I have proposed on behalf of the EPP Group should be implemented as quickly as possible: the criminal liability of the internet giants, the containment of radicalisation inside prisons, the drying-up of foreign funding, the setting-up of a European PNR and of systematic controls at the EU's external borders; these measures proposed by the EPP Group got a majority vote today. This is a turning point in the European Parliament's awareness."

"Today's vote is above all a strong signal for the European Commission and the Council who must implement my proposals. The European Institutions must take responsibility, as we did today in the European Parliament. European citizens are watching us, their expectations are immense. If we do not respond to these expectations, we would be exposing European citizens to barbarians”, Dati concluded.
