Suspend accession talks unless Turkey rethinks reforms
The European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee approves Parliament’s review of the latest European Commission progress report on accession talks with Turkey. The resolution calls for the suspension of accession talks if the Turkish government proceeds with constitutional changes approved in a highly-contested referendum. It calls for an end to the talks if Turkey reinstates the death penalty.
