EPP Group Bureau meeting in Rome to discuss agriculture, migration, jobs and the future of Europe

The Bureau of the EPP Group will travel to Rome from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 September to discuss agriculture, migration, jobs and the future of Europe. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will address an internal meeting with Group Members on the future agenda of the European Commission.

Together with members of the European Commission, Members of the Italian Government and Italian MPs, the Bureau of the EPP Group will debate strong and sustainable European farms and a common European response to migration. An EPP Group Policy Paper ‘Jobs, Jobs, Jobs for a strong recovery’ will be also presented.

A special intervention by Silvio Berlusconi MEP, President of Forza Italia and Former Prime Minister of Italy, is scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Other speakers during the meeting will include Ettore Prandini, President of Coldiretti, the Italian Farmers' Confederation, Carlo Bonomi, President of Confindustria, Confederation of Italian Industry, Antonella Folgori, CEO of Reithera, and Petra Von Strombeck, CEO of New Work/XING.

The programme will also include a press visit to La Castelluccia farm.

The closing day will be dedicated to the Conference ‘Christian Values and the Future of Europe' in collaboration with the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Union.

Journalists can attend the meeting at Westin Excelsior Hotel (Via Veneto 125). A series of speeches will be transmitted to the press room. The meeting will adhere to the hotel’s COVID guidelines and a Green Pass will be mandatory. Registration will be needed to access the press room.
