Housing in Europe: a crisis we can’t ignore

Housing in Europe: a crisis we can’t ignore:
The goal is clear: making housing affordable for Europeans. From Berlin to Milan, Tallinn to Barcelona, the lack of access to decent and affordable housing affects families across the EU. This leaves many excluded from the market. House prices and rents are slipping out of reach, hitting young people and vulnerable groups the hardest.
We can’t look away. Despite this being a national competence, there are actions the EU can take to help address the problem.
- Let’s build more homes and faster.
- Let’s make financing easier.
- Let’s ensure legislation doesn’t hold us back.
With a balanced EU-wide strategy and the right investments, we can help Member States solve the housing crisis.
