European drone must conquer the world
"With a market estimated at €80 billion and the creator of 100,000 jobs by 2025, the EU should maintain its lead", said Renaud Muselier MEP, following the vote on the Report on the use of civilian drones today in the European Parliament plenary.
According to Muselier, the EPP Group Rapporteur, this vote - adopted by a large majority - confirms the momentum set by the EPP Group: "Maximum freedom for entrepreneurs and absolute protection of citizens."
Muselier defended three essential axes in this text: "Firstly, the will to conquer: the European Union must legislate quickly to impose itself on the world; secondly, legislation which allows entrepreneurs to continue to innovate, which is a sine qua non condition of European leadership; and lastly, the privacy of European citizens is preserved, particularly through the identification requirement of all drones."
Renaud Muselier welcomed the impetus given by the European Parliament today: "This is a symbolic vote for the European Union. It represents a step closer to effective legislation in support of employment."
