EPP Group to launch 5 million jobs plan in Athens

Unemployment will be at the core of the debates at the EPP Group Bureau meeting in Athens on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th of February.

Ahead of the crucial European elections in May, the EPP Group has a clear target: to create 5 million new jobs in the coming years. To achieve this, Group Chairman Manfred Weber will present an economic agenda for the upcoming years to create these jobs, based on European innovation, ambitious trade agreements, investments in infrastructure and a strong social market economy.

Manfred Weber will launch the debate together with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, President of Nea Dimokratia (Greece), Pablo Casado, President of the Partido Popular (Spain), and Antonio Tajani MEP, President of the European Parliament. EPP Group Members and experts from Greece and abroad will discuss what is needed to continue the economic recovery, especially in the south of Europe.
