Farm to Fork Strategy

The European Commission’s Farm to Fork (F2F) Strategy could be further fleshed out with concrete legislative proposals for enhancing food and agricultural sustainability by 2030. The ambition to make the EU's food system a model of sustainability at all stages of the food value chain needs focus on several layers and legislative development on labelling, consumer responsibility and education, a reduction of pesticides and antibiotic resistance, among others.

While it is acceptable that policy approaches must be ambitious, coherent and enabling, the viability of European agriculture and a resilient supply of safe and sustainable food for all must be ensured. The EPP Group is set to engage in an open dialogue on how such objectives should be achieved by a balanced, science-based approach.
