The Hon. Radosław (Radek) Sikorski studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom.
Sikorski acquired a variety of experience in the private sector.
Between 1986 and 1989, Mr Sikorski worked as a freelancer war correspondent in Afghanistan and Angola, contributing to the Sunday Telegraph, the Observer, the Spectator. He then became the Chief Foreign Correspondent for the National Review in New York City, between 1988 and 1990. He then acted as the representative in Poland for News Corporation, between 1990 and 1992.
Between 2002 and 2005, he was the Resident Fellow and Director of the New Atlantic Initiative, American Enterprise Institute, Washington D.C and a conference organiser on the reform of the UN, 25th Anniversary of Solidarity, legacy of Ronald Reagan for Central Europe, Orange Revolution in Ukraine, Belarus, reform of NATO.
In 2015, he became a Senior Advisor for the Eurasia Group, New York and a Principal for Sikorski Global, Poland.
Between 2015 and 2018, Mr Sikorski was the Chairman of the Board for the City of Bydgoszcz Industrial-Technological Park.
In 2017, he became the CEO of Consilium Global Partners, in London.
Furthermore, Mr Sikorski has experience working in public service.
In 1992, he was the Deputy Minister of Defence, later becoming the Minister of Defence, between 2005 and 2007. Between 1998 and 2001, he was the Undersecretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Between 2005 and 2007, he was the Senator for Bydgoszsz.
From 2005 to 2015, he was a Member of the National Security Council and from 2007 to 2015, a Member of the Polish Parliament. He was also the Minister for Foreign Affairs, between 2007 and 2015. From 2014 to 2015, he was the Marshal of Sejm, known as the Speaker of Parliament.
In addition to his career, Mr Sikorski has won many awards, published books and written many articles.
Now a Member of the European Parliament, he is the Chairman of the Delegation for relations with the United States. He is also a Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Subcommittee on Security and Defence.
